OPC is a leading geophysics consultancy to companies within the Oil and Gas sector.

Our geophysics consultants have worked on a wide range of 2D and 3D seismic interpretation projects for clients located worldwide. These projects have included the evaluation of exploration and production assets in data rooms, prospect evaluations, Licence Round work, velocity and depth conversion sensitivities, seismic survey planning, seismic processing management, Competent Person Reports, reserves estimations and field development planning.

In addition OPC has performed quantitative geophysical analysis of seismic data in order to extract information on field reservoir properties and fracture orientations. The extracted data have been integrated with geological and reservoir engineering data to generate static and dynamic models of the fields. The field models have been used to help client companies reduce risk by optimizing the locations of future exploration, appraisal and production wells.

BRENDAN_KEATINGBrendan Keating is our expert interpretation Geophysicist who has worked on assets in over 60 countries for a range of companies from start-ups to majors (including ARCO and Conoco) and spent five years in investment banking at Jefferies Randall & Dewey in London.

OPC has access to a full range of industry standard software technology including Petrel, IHS Kingdom and Recall.

OPC has the resources to provide QA/QC services in support of onshore or offshore seismic acquisition projects.

Here are selected examples of recent projects undertaken by OPC:

ressimwp522Offshore Africa – OPC performed a review of the reserves and development plan for a Gas Field, offshore Africa

ressimwp522Middle East – Technical assistance in a high level screening study of sand control methods for offshore wells in the Middle East.

ressimwp522Middle East – OPC successfully completed a full static and dynamic modelling and simulation review in order to assess the feasibility of the operator’s appraisal and development plan.

  • Geology and Geophysics study to review 40 Gas Fields looking for late life development opportunities in the UK North Sea.
  • Review of East Nile Delta seismic data for evaluation of infill, appraisal and near field drilling activities
  • Geological, geophysical and petrophysical analysis as part of as due diligence study for fields in Kurdistan, Congo, Cameroon and Nigeria
