Five year consultant contract in Qatar
Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded OPC and its local partner CDC a five-year call off contract for the supply of subsurface engineers and geoscientists. The contract was awarded to the CDC-OPC Joint Venture following a competitive tender.
The services to be provided are focused on the provision of highly qualified, specialized and technically experienced personnel on a call-off basis to support QP operations both domestic and international.
Between 2006 and 2012 OPC had a similar contract with QP and, as a result, has a local office in Doha and an excellent in-depth understanding of the market. This time we have the additional benefit of working alongside local partner CDC who are able to offer additional in-country commercials, administration and employment support.
Riley Smith, General Manager of OPC MENA said:
It’s great to be working with QP again. Since we last worked with QP in 2012 we have expanded our operations significantly globally, we have delivered a large number of major projects, gaining valuable experience and amassing a large quantity of qualified resources in our database which we look forward to giving QP access to.
Running the contract through the new JV with CDC is also important; it provides us with a great platform to deliver our services through and gives us a substantial local support network in Qatar.
It was pleasing to see that some of the consultants we placed between 2006-2012 are still working with QP, which is a real testament to the quality of the guys.”
Riley Smith, General Manager OPC MENA
