The client, as a part of the concept select process for a SNS development required greenhouse gas (GHG) inventorying of short-listed concepts.
OPC assessed the lifetime emissions of the development options. The client was able to evaluate the emissions of the concepts and integrate this thinking into corporate decision making, outlining an enhanced understanding of Stewardship Expectation 11. OPC’s assessment included benchmarking with similar projects & calculating an economic carbon cost of the project. Which is used as a part of an assessment by BEIS to evaluate the economic value of proposed developments.
This project enabled the client to understand the hydrogen energy potential of their field and integrate this technical knowledge with their long term energy transition strategy.
