PTA and PVT review to determine gas caps

Offshore West Africa

Project Completed

PTA and PVT review to determine gas caps

OPC undertook a review of existing PTA (Pressure Transient Analysis) data and existing laboratory PVT analyses from several wells in an offshore field in West Africa.

The field comprises vertically stacked reservoir Units and initial analysis by the operator had identified the potential existence of primary gas caps.   Expert staff from OPC reviewed both the PVT and PTA data in detail and, thanks to their experience in working on similarly structured reservoirs, were able to provide an accurate assessment of the existence of gas caps for the asset owner.

Disciplines utilised during project

Reservoir Simulation

We apply the latest technology and software together with highly competent in house engineering and geoscience staff, to build geostatistical models and up-scale them to dynamic models

Reservoir Engineering

OPC is one of the leading independent reservoir engineering consultants in the world providing services on a global basis to IOCs, NOCs and independent oil & gas businesses.

Reservoir engineering studies have included phase behaviour and equation of state modelling and production engineering.

Pressure Transient Analysis

OPC specialises in Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA), also known as Well test analysis, which involves the interpretation and analysis of Drill Stem Test (DST), Extended Well Test (EWT) and Production/Injection permanent downhole gauge data.
