OPC interpreted a DST on an appraisal well in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea which was tested almost 10 years ago.
This reservoir was characterised into three layers with one of the perforated layers not contributing to flow as seen by the PLT. By using the multi-layer PTA modelling ability of the PIE PTA programme, OPC in-house interpretation consultants managed to give a distribution of the permeability to the individual layers. These results will greatly aid in the building of a numerical model for Field Development Planning for the operator.
The OPC team also used ConvEx (Pressure Rate Deconvolution) to extract a larger minimum connected volume than otherwise seen by a single build up.
