OPC recently prepared a well test design project on an appraisal oil well in the UK North Sea.
The OPC technical team provided expert assistance with the overall pre-testing modelling, including advanced well test techniques such as interference analysis. Being utilised in a sense to predict interference on a ‘observer well over 7000 ft away to demonstrate reservoir connectivity.
A test plan was developed, and OPC successfully streamlined the proposed testing schedule, achieving a total reduction of 14 days to meet the client’s objectives. Additionally, an extra analysis was performed to assess connected volumes through Deconvolution, providing the client with a reliable indication of the volume connected to the well.
