Focus on exploration and energy security
PETEX, organised by the GESGB, is the largest UK conference and exhibition focused on subsurface exploration and production (E&P). Every year, it brings together industry leaders to explore a broad range of topics, including hydrocarbon-derived energy, energy transition, and other energy sources.
This year, the event spotlighted new exploration opportunities and discussed the North Sea’s evolving role in energy security. With shifting global priorities, the North Sea is poised to play a critical role in balancing traditional energy production with emerging low-carbon technologies.
Highlights included technical presentations which showcased advancements in geosciences, an award ceremony recognising achievements and contributions in the field and, an impressive Dinosaur display.

2024 marks the GESGB’s diamond anniversary and OPC were proud to sponsor the milestone and attend the Diamond Anniversary Reception event in London which celebrated of the achievements and contributions of their members.
