Ian, who has worked at OPC since 2011 and has over 40 years’ of experience as a Petroleum Engineer, became involved with Action Tutoring in 2017 after his daughter and her friend introduced him to the organisation.
About Action Tutoring.
Action Tutoring is a national education charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged young people succeed academically, and then help them progress in education, employment and training. Students are matched with high-quality volunteers who help enhance their subject knowledge, confidence and study skills.
Ian joined Action Tutoring in 2017 and has tutored more than 40 year 11 disadvantaged pupils, supporting them to pass their Maths GCSEs.
He says:

Ian joined OPC in 2011 and has worked on major projects across the world. He adds:

Founded by Susannah Hardyman in 2011, the charity has tripled in size since before COVID, and now aims to support over 8,000 disadvantaged pupils, requiring help from organisations and more than 3,000 volunteer maths and English tutors.
