Deepwater Wells
OPC provided drilling engineering design and operational support for a deepwater exploration campaign offshore Namibia. Over a six-month period, we supported the planning and execution of multiple wells in water depths of 1,300 to 2,400 metres.
Our scope included detailed well design, casing and mud programmes, pore pressure and fracture gradient modelling, and real-time support during drilling operations. We worked closely with the client’s drilling and subsurface teams to optimise well performance and manage operational risks.
The project was completed safely and efficiently, with improved well durations and reduced non-productive time. OPC’s involvement contributed to the successful delivery of one of Namibia’s most high-profile deepwater campaigns to date.
