Simulation Training: Qatar
OPC was engaged to deliver a bespoke 10-day training course on dynamic reservoir simulation for the Reservoir Management team of our client in Qatar.
The course was designed to ensure that participants gained a robust understanding of the principles of dynamic simulation, while also building confidence in applying workflows directly to their assets. The training was commissioned to enhance the team’s capabilities with up-to-date industry practices and software proficiency.
OPC designed the course to incorporating the clients unique geological and engineering challenges and provided exercises and models which simulated the client’s producing fields.
The programme was structured into two focused phases:
- Week 1: Theoretical instruction covering core concepts of dynamic reservoir simulation
- Week 2: Practical, hands-on training using the latest industry dynamic simulation software to practically build a dynamic model from scratch running various cases to simulate the clients fields.
