OPC is proud to mark its 15th anniversary in Kazakhstan. Since May 2010, our journey in Central Asia has been defined by technical excellence, enduring partnerships, and a commitment to supporting Kazakhstan’s energy sector through expert consultancy services.
At the heart of this journey is Almas Nurbayev, our General Manager in Kazakhstan, who also celebrates 15 years with OPC this year. Almas has been a driving force behind our success in the region, bringing more than 20 years of oil and gas experience and a deep understanding of both the local industry and international standards.

Our impact in Kazakhstan.
Over the past 15 years, OPC has contributed to some of Kazakhstan’s most high-profile energy projects. A major highlight has been our ongoing role as technical consultants to PSA LLP, the state-owned company representing the Republic of Kazakhstan’s interest in three of the country’s flagship oil and gas developments, Kashagan, Karachaganak and Dunga.
OPC also played a key role in the commissioning of Kazakhstan’s first offshore drilling barge, the ‘Caspian Explorer,’ and the launch of ‘Satti,’ the country’s first jack-up rig. These projects represent not only technological milestones but also OPC’s commitment to advancing local capabilities and supporting Kazakhstan’s energy ambitions.

OPC Kazakhstan began with a single office in Atyrau before we moved to Astana, the capital, demonstrating our growth and increasing demand for our services. Each year, our pool of consultants broadens, bringing together the best local and international talent in the industry.
