Reinforcing our US Commitment with Strategic Client Visit to Houston

Strategic Client Visit to Houston
Kent Massey and Max Richards reaffirm OPC’s commitment to delivering integrated global energy support from Houston.

Kent Massey, Group Director, Surface Business, and Group Business Development Manager Max Richards recently completed a focused client visit to Houston, reaffirming OPC’s long-term commitment to the US and laying the groundwork for an enhanced and more visible service offering.

The visit centred on reconnecting with existing clients, exploring new avenues for collaboration, and reinforcing OPC’s ability to support a rapidly evolving energy market. With Houston continuing to serve as a key global hub for oil and gas, the trip demonstrated OPC’s intent to play a more active and integrated role in the region.

Building on Strong Foundations.

OPC has maintained an established office in Houston for several years. This latest visit signals a renewed effort to increase on-the-ground visibility and deepen client relationships, positioning Houston as a central node for OPC’s global operations. Kent said:

“We’ve always had a footprint in Houston, but we want to do more. This visit was about getting closer to our clients, understanding their current needs, and showing how OPC can support them both locally and internationally.”

A Clear Service Strategy.

OPC’s approach to the US market is anchored around three core pillars:

  • Subsurface-Led Support: With a recognised shortage of high-quality subsurface expertise in Houston, OPC is leveraging its global technical excellence to fill that gap. This includes exploration, reservoir engineering, and geoscience services that underpin smarter field development and asset optimisation.

  • Internationalisation Support: As US-based operators increasingly look to expand internationally, OPC is well-placed to guide them through the technical, commercial, and operational complexities of entering new regions. With global project experience and a network of regional specialists, OPC offers the insight and infrastructure needed for successful overseas ventures.

  • Unconventional Oil & Gas Expertise: Houston remains a centre of excellence for shale and other unconventional plays. OPC aims to complement this with its “smart unconventionals” offering, applying rigorous science and data-led approaches to unlock more value from complex reservoirs, both in the US and globally.

Additionally, OPC is supporting clients with resource management and flexible capacity planning – key priorities in a sector where project demand can fluctuate rapidly.

People, Partnerships, and Presence.

Collaboration was a key theme throughout the visit, not only with clients but also with potential partners. Rather than simply expanding internal teams, OPC is building a senior-led model supported by strategic alliances that allow for greater agility and scale.

Max played a vital role in reinforcing OPC’s presence, reconnecting with clients, and articulating the company’s evolving service offering. Following his successful attendance at Gastech 2024, Max brought energy, insight, and clarity to each interaction. He says:

“This wasn’t about a sales push, it was about listening. Our clients value technical credibility, responsiveness, and global insight. That’s exactly what OPC brings to the table.”

What’s next.

The visit marked a fresh chapter in OPC’s US journey, one focused on deeper engagement, technical leadership, and long-term value creation for clients.

“We’re here to help our clients think differently, work smarter, and deliver better outcomes, whether that’s in Houston or across their global portfolios.”
