Hydrogen simulation and injection study

Project Completed

The OPC Technical Team has completed a reservoir study using a dynamic model to simulate the injection and migration of Hydrogen throughout a reservoir.

OPC applied the latest technology and industry standard software together with highly competent in house engineering and geoscience staff.

The simulation study reviewed the refill efficiency and calculated the electrical storage potential of the reservoir. The gas density map shows the extent of the reach of hydrogen injection. The less dense areas (i.e. hydrogen) are the darker blue colours.

This project enabled the client to understand the hydrogen energy potential of their field and integrate this technical knowledge with their long term energy transition strategy.
